REGULATIONS UNDER THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT

ORDINANCE 1911-1927.

PURSUANT to the powers conferred upon it by the Provisional Government Ordinance 1911-1927, the Federal Capital Commission, appointed under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1924-1926, hereby makes
the following Regulations, to come into operation forthwith.

TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Traffic Regulations. Short title.

' 2.—(].) All persons, vehicles and animals shall be excluded from any Exclusion of

road, street, footpath, thoroughfare, or place in or on which is exhibited by vehicles'and

order of the Federal Capital Commission a notice stating that they are so animals from excluded, or fiom which any member of the Police Force of the Territory cer Mn r a
or any person thereto authorized in writing by the Federal Capital Commission
or otherwise lawfully authorized states that they are so excluded.

(2.) A person shall not enter or go upon or cause or permit any vehicle or animal to enter or go upon any road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place from which the person or the animal or vehicle is excluded in pursuance of the last preceding sub-regulation.

Powers of, 3. Any member of the Police Force of the Territory or any person thereto rouoBtooi &o. authorized in writing by the Federal Capital Commission or otherwise lawfully

authorized may—

(a) by holding up his hand or giving any other appropriate signal, or in any other manner, order or direct any person to stop so long, or proceed in such a manner and direction, as that member or person deems fit;

(&) by holding up his hand or giving any other appropriate signal or in any other manner, order or direct any person in charge of a vehicle or animal to stop the vehicle or animal so long, or to drive or otherwise take the vehicle or animal in such a manner and direction, as that member or person deems fit;

(fi) order or direct any person to leave any road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place from which the person is excluded in pur- suance of these ^Regulations and expel any person from the road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place who when so ordered or directed does not leave the road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place ; and

(d) direct any person in charge of a vehicle or animal to remove his vehicle or animal from any portion of any road, street, faatpath, thoroughfare or place and either to remove the vehicle or animal from the road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place or cause it to proceed to some adjacent portion of the road, street, footpath, thoroughfare or place or to some other place indicated by the member or person.
