Traffic (Public Vehicles) Amendment Regulations 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .13 December 1999

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Public Vehicles) Amendment Regulations 1999 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect 7 days after the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Traffic (Public Vehicles) Regulations 1967 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Schedule 2 amended (Fares and charges for cabs and hire cars generally)Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from clause 2(a)(ii) "50.2" and substituting "48.9"; (b) by omitting from clause 2(a)(iii) "100.3" and substituting "97.7"; (c) by omitting from clause 2(b)(ii) "41.8" and substituting "40.7"; (d) by omitting from clause 2(b)(iii) "83.6" and substituting "81.4"; (e) by omitting from clause 3(a)(ii) "44.2" and substituting "43.1"; (f) by omitting from clause 3(a)(iii) "88.3" and substituting "86.2"; (g) by omitting from clause 3(b)(ii) "36.8" and substituting "35.9"; (h) by omitting from clause 3(b)(iii) "73.6" and substituting "71.8"; (i) by omitting from clause 4(a)(ii) "99.7" and substituting "102.3"; (j) by omitting from clause 4(b)(ii) "119.6" and substituting "122.8"; (k) by omitting clause 5 and substituting the following clause: 5.   Extra charges – (a) in the case of trips originating outside the Burnie, Devonport, Hobart and Launceston taxi areas as described in Schedule 1 to the Taxi Industry (Taxi Areas) Regulations 1996 between the hours of 12.30 a.m. and 5.00 a.m., a surcharge of $2.50; and (b) in the case where credit arrangements have been made with the hirer, an accounting fee of up to 10% over and above the metered fare may be charged.
