Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations 2000

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .1 May 2000

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations 2000 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 2 amended (Interpretation)Regulation 2(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of "town". 5Regulation 38 amended (Learners' licences)Regulation 38 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (4A) "a prescribed area," and substituting "50 kilometres of a place where a prescribed training course is conducted,"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (8) the definition of "prescribed area". 6Regulation 39 amended (Requirements for licences)Regulation 39 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (2)(c) "a prescribed area," and substituting "50 kilometres of a place where a prescribed advanced training course is conducted,"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (4) the definition of "prescribed area". 7Regulation 84A amended (Use of photographic detection devices)Regulation 84A(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "of exceeding a speed limit under the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 " and substituting ", under the Traffic (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 , of exceeding the speed-limit applying to a driver for the length of road where the driver is driving". 8Regulation 84B amended (Information to be shown on photographs)Regulation 84B(h) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "speed limit" and substituting "speed-limit". 9Regulation 84C amended (Inspection of photographs, &c.)Regulation 84C(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "of exceeding a speed limit under the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 " and substituting ", under the Traffic (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 , of exceeding the speed-limit applying to a driver for the length of road where the driver is driving". 10Regulation 104A amended (Specified offences)Regulation 104A is amended by omitting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraph: (b) an offence under rule 20 of the Traffic (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 that has been detected by a photographic detection device;
