Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .22 January 1998

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations 1998 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on 28 January 1998. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 2 amended (Interpretation)Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after the definition of "high-beam" the following definition: Internet payment system means a system by which payment may be made using the Internet; (b) by inserting after the definition of "taxi" the following definition: telephone payment system means a system by which payment may be made using a telephone; 5Schedule 9 amended (Vehicle registration fees)Schedule 9 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after Part 3 the following Part: PART 4Reduced Registration FeesIf a fee for an item set out in this Schedule is paid by means of an Internet payment system or a telephone payment system, the amount of the fee is to be reduced by $5.
