Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2007

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .3 December 2007

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2007 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2001 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Schedule 2 amended (Traffic infringement notice offences) Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 434 in the table ; (b) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 436 in the table ; (c) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 439 in the table ; (d) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 442 in the table ; (e) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 445 in the table ; (f) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 448 in the table ; (g) by omitting "stopped" from column 2 of item 451 in the table ; (h) by omitting "(except within Glenorchy City as defined under section 16A(3) of the Local Government Act 1993 )" from column 2 of item 454 in the table ; (i) by omitting item 455 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations amend the

(a) updating, in line with recent changes to the Road Rules, the description of infringement notice offences for speeding near school buses; and (b) providing that there is no longer a specific infringement notice offence for parking continuously for longer than permitted by sign within Glenorchy City.
