2 Traffic Amendment (No. 4) No. 294, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Traffic Amendment Regulation (No. 4) 1993 . ˙ Amended regulation 2. The Traffic Regulation 1962 is amended as set out in this regulation. ˙ Amendment of s.207 3. Section 207— insert (as a heading)— ‘Prescribed offence—traffic control light’. ˙ Amendment of s.208 4. Section 208— insert (as a heading)— ‘Form of notice’. ˙ Replacement of Division heading 5. Part 22, Division 2 (heading)— omit, insert— ‘Division 2—Evidentiary matters’. ˙ Amendment of s.209 6.(1) Section 209— insert (as a heading)— ‘Operation and testing of photographic detection device—traffic lights’. (2) Section 209(c)(iv)—
3 Traffic Amendment (No. 4) No. 294, 1993 omit, insert— ‘ (iv) the denotations mentioned in section 210 are recorded on the exposure; and ’. ˙ Insertion of new s.210 7. After section 209— insert— ˙ ‘Denotations in data block ‘210.(1) An exposure mentioned in section 209(c)(ii) or (iii) must contain a data block in which the denotations mentioned in subsections 3 to 7 are recorded. ‘(2) The data block must record denotations in 5 cells as illustrated in Figure 1. Figure 1—Data block Cell 1 Cell 2 Cell 3 Cell 4 Cell 5 ‘(3) Cell 1 of the data block must contain, in relation to the time and date when the exposure was taken, the following denotations— (a) the time in 24 hour clock mode showing the hours in large numbers and the minutes in small numbers; (b) the day, month and year in large numbers immediately following the time. ‘(4) Cell 2 of the data block must contain the following denotations— (a) if the exposure is the first exposure in the series— (i) the characters ‘CH.’ to indicate that the exposure is the first exposure in the series; and (ii) a large number immediately following the characters to indicate the lane of the carriageway in which the vehicle that first passed over the activated induction loop was travelling;
4 Traffic Amendment (No. 4) No. 294, 1993 (b) if the exposure is the second or subsequent exposure in the series— (i) a set of 3 large numbers to indicate the identification number of the person who inserted the film magazine into the camera; and (ii) a small number immediately following the set of 3 large numbers to indicate the lane of the carriageway in which the vehicle that first passed over the activated induction loop was travelling. ‘(5) Cell 3 of the data block must contain the following denotations— (a) a letter ‘R’ to indicate that the exposure was taken while the relevant red signal at the intersection or junction was displayed; (b) a set of 2 large numbers and 1 small number immediately following the ‘R’ to indicate the time in seconds and tenths of a second respectively that the exposure was taken after the relevant red signal at the intersection or junction was displayed. ‘(6) Cell 4 of the data block must contain a denotation showing a set of 3 large numbers to indicate the identification number of the series of exposures taken of a vehicle that passed over the activated induction loop. ‘(7) Cell 5 must contain a denotation showing a set of 4 large numbers that represent the identification code of the intersection or junction at which the camera is situated. ’.
