An Ordinance to amend the Traffic Ordinance 1937

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Traffic (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 2) 1984.1

Principal Ordinance

2.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Traffic Ordinance 1937.2

Pedestrian traffic

3.  Section 26 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by inserting after sub-section (1) the following sub-section:

“(1A)  In this section, a reference consisting of a name of a traffic sign referred to in column 2 of an item in the Schedule immediately followed by the word “sign”, is a reference to a traffic sign that is substantially of the design set out in column 3 of that item.”;

(b)by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) “or” (last occurring); and

(c)by omitting paragraph (2) (b) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(b)a DON’T WALK sign illuminated continuously or intermittently in red against a background that is not so illuminated; or

(c)a circular red or amber light, with or without an illuminated arrow, and without the word “WALK” illuminated or without an illuminated “WALK” sign.”.

4.  The Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end thereof the following Schedule:
