[ASSENTED TO 31ST DECEMBER, 1910.] B E it enacted by tbe King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in 'Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :- 1. (1.) This Act ma.v be cited as "The TrafficAct SIt 'It title .Amendment Act of 1910," and sball l)e read a.s one with :~~~tpuction. " The Brisbane Traffic Act qf 1905,"* herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and tbis Act may be cited together as " 1 7 he Traffic Acts, 1905 to 1910." (2.) In section one of the Principal Act~ the word " Brisbane' ~ in the short title is repealed. In the definition of "District," in section two of the Principal Act, after the words "Metropolitan Traffic District," the words" inclusive of the Victoria Bridge and the approaches thereto, or any other Traffic District" arE' inserted. . 1 ow · m 2 g . sAecfttIe . Shire, or two or more of such Areas which are conterminous, together with any bridge which is situated at the boundary. of any Area or Areas, a Traffic District for the purposes of this Act by such name as he thinks proper; (b) Alter .the boundaries of a Traffic District; (c) Abolish a Traffic District. Thereafter so long as such District exists this Act shall apply to and be in force in such District. No. 25, District shall cease to exercise or perform therein any ofthe powers, duties, or authorities, or be subject to. any of the obligations which under this Act the Commissioner is' authorised to exercise or perform or to which he is liable: Provided that all licenses ~ ranted by any such Local Authority or Joint IJocalAuthority shall continue·in force until they expire, unless they are sooner suspended or cancelled under this Act, and all By-laws made by any such Local Authority or Joint Local Authority shall remain in force until the expiration of six months after the con- stitution of such District, unless sooner repealed by the Regulations: and such licenses shall be deemed to be licenses grankd in pursuance of the Regulations, and such By-laws shall be deemed to be Regulations made under this Act. And references in those By-laws to the Local Authority or Joint Local Authority shall be deemed to refer to the Commissioner; and references to inspectors und other officers charged with the control of traffic shall he deemed to refer to police officers.
