AN ACT to amend the Traffic Act, 1919-1958.
[Assented to 25th September, 1959.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

| amended. | 2. Subsection (1) of section five of the principal |
Act is amended by
| (a) | adding after the subsection designation (1) the paragraph designation (a); |
| (b) | adding after the word, "Act" being the last word in the subsection the words, "but a license is not required for an agricultural implement which is being hauled or towed on a road by a vehicle for which the owner is the holder of the requisite vehicle license"; and |
| (c) | adding a paragraph as follows |
(b) For the purposes of this section, "agricultural implement" means an implement or machine designed and used for ploughing, cultivation, spreading fertiliser, sowing seed, spraying, har- vesting crops, chaff cutting and other agricultural operations, whether hauled or towed by animal or mechanical power and which is owned by a person carrying on the business of farming or grazing.

Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section sixteen of the principal Act is amended by deleting the passage commencing with the word, "any" in line two and ending with the word, "of" where firstly appearing in line three.

| Section forty-six A of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the passage, ", includ- ing the load," in lines one and two, the passage, "(including the load but not including any rear vision mirror or signalling devices fitted to the vehicle in accordance with the regulations)". | S. 96A |

(b) Empower the drivers and conductors of passenger vehicles to remove therefrom such persons or class of persons as are prescribed by the regulations;
and
| (f) | adding after paragraph (vii) of subsection (1) a paragraph as follows- |
(viia) Prescribe how vehicles used in hill climbing tests, speed races or tests, driving - or speed exhibitions or reliability tests, whether or not the races, tests or exhibitions are conducted or held on or off roads, are to be equipped with safety appliances or gear for the protec- tion of the drivers or passengers in or on the vehicles; .
