AN ACT to amend the Traffic Act, 1919.

B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, byCouncil and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, inand with the advice and consent of the Legislative

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Traffic Act Amendment

A ct, 1921, and shall be read as one with the Traffic Act, 1919, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Section thirteen of the principal Act is amended by in- serting after the word "Minister," in paragraph (b) of sub- section two thereof, the following words :—" and the costs in- curred by the Minister under section eighty-six of the Public Works Act, 1902, in any financial year in repairing the Perth- Fremantle Road from Ferdinand Road to the North Fre- mantle Bridge."

(a) By inserting the words "and the use of footpaths" after the word "roads," in the third and sixth lines of subsection one.

(b)

By inserting in subdivision (i) of subsection one a

paragraph, as follows:

(p) Prohibiting the use by vehicles on specified roads of half a chain in width or under except when proceeding in a prescribed direction.

(c)

By substituting for paragraph. (k) of subdivision

(vii) of subsection one a paragraph, as follows:—

(k) Require and authorise each local authority

to require a license to be obtained at a prescribed

fee for the use of any jinker, whim, or other vehicle

or trailer engaged in heavy traffic in its district, in

lieu of the ordinary fee for a vehicle licensed

as fixed by the third schedule.

(d) By inserting for paragraph (1) of subdivision (vii)

of subsection one a paragraph:

(I) exempt from the operations of paragraph (k) such part or parts of the State as the Minis- ter may decide.

5. All .copies of the principal Act hereafter printed as Reprinting of

amended by this Act shall be printed under the supervision amncipal

of the Clerk of Parliaments, and all necessary references to the Act shall be made in the margin. In the headlines of

Part IV. the words "and other" may be inserted between the

words " m otor " and " vehicle. "
