TRAFFIC ACT 1909—REGULATION

(Relating to the use of vehicles designed to clean footpaths)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Traffic Act 1909, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

WAL MURRAY

Minister for Roads.

The Motor Traffic Regulations 1935 are amended:

(a)

by inserting at the end of Regulation 90A (2) (c) the following matter:

; or

(d) a motor vehicle which:

(i)  is designed for the purpose of cleaning the footpath

of a public street; and

(iii) while being used for that purpose, displays amber

flashing signals by means of a lamp or lamps
mounted on top of the vehicle.

(b)

by omitting from Regulation 90A (3) the matter “(2) (a), (b) or (c),’ and by inserting instead the matter “(2) (a), (b), (c) or (d)”;

(c)

by inserting in Regulation 90A (4) after the matter “(2) (c)” the matter “or (d)”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to permit a motor vehicle designed to clean

footpaths to be driven on the footpath of a public street.
