TRAFFIC ACT 1909 - REGULATION

(Relating to the inspection of tow trucks)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 November 1990.

Amendments

2. The Motor Traffic Regulations 1935 are amended:

(a) by inserting in the definition of "Tow Truck" in Regulation 2 (1) after the words "towing it" the words "and includes a tow truck within the meaning of the Tow Truck Act 1989";

(b) by inserting after Regulation 94 (3) (b) the following paragraph

(b1) a tow truck;

(c) by inserting in item 10 (a) (vi) of Schedule A after the word "item" the words "or a tow truck".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Motor Traffic Regulations 1935:

(a)	to extend the meaning of "tow truck" in those Regulations to include tow trucks within the meaning of the Tow Truck Act 1989; and
(b)	to include tow trucks in the Heavy Vehicle Inspection Scheme conducted by the Roads and Traffic Authority.
