TRAFFIC ACT 1909—REGULATION

(Relating to evidence of identity of applicants for drivers’ licences)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Traffic Act 1909, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

WAL MURRAY

Minister for Roads.

The Motor Traffic Regulations 1935 are amended:

(a) by omitting from Regulation 4A (1) (o) the word “or”;

(b)

by omitting from Regulation 4A the word “Commissioner” wherever occuring and by inserting instead the word “Authority”;

(c)

by inserting after Regulation 4A (1) (p) the following word and paragraph:

; or

(q) a proof of age card issued by the Authority.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Motor Traffic Regulations 1935:

(a) to provide that proof of age cards issued by the Roads and Traffic Authority are acceptable evidence of the identity of applicants in relation to the grant or renewal of drivers’ licences; and
(b) to replace references (in the provision being amended) to the
