TRAFFIC ACT 1909—REGULATION

(Relating to fire engines and other vehicles proceeding to an emergency)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Traffic Act 1909, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The General Traffic Regulations 1916 are amended by omitting section

3.10 (2) (b) and by inserting instead the following paragraph:

(b)

any fire engine, reel or other vehicle apparently proceeding in the charge of a fire fighter to a fire or other emergency;

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to require drivers or riders of vehicles to give way to any fire engine, reel or other vehicle of which a fire fighter proceeding to an emergency has charge (whether or not the emergency is a fire).

This Regulation is made under the Traffic Act 1909, including section 3 (the general

regulation making power).
