His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Traffic Act 1909.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the penalty to be imposed by penalty notices issued under section 18B of the Traffic Act 1909 in respect of offences under section 4BA of that Act, and to prescribe the demerit points to be imposed against the licence of the offender.

'This Regulation is made under the Traffic Act 1909, including section 3 (the

general regulation-making power) and section 18B.

    This Regulation is the Motor Traffic Amendment (Street Racing)
    Regulation 1997.

The Motor Traffic Regulations 1935 are amended as set out in

Schedule 1.
