His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Traffic Act 1909.

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the form of speed limit signs that are to be erected or displayed to indicate a length of road or road related area to which a speed limit applies where the road or road related area is in a network of 2 or more roads or road related areas subject to an area speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.
This Regulation is made under the Traffic Act 1909, including sections 3 (the general regulation-making power) and 4A.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Motor Traffic Amendment (Area Speed

Limit Signs) Regulation 1999.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 25 January 1999.

3      Amendment of Motor Traffic Regulations 1935

The Motor Traffic Regulations 1935 are amended as set out in

Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Omit “Diagram 1, 3, 5, 6, or 9” from Regulation 54A (1).

Insert instead “Diagram 1, 3, 5, 6, 9 or 11”.

Omit “Diagram 5 or 6”.

Insert instead “Diagram 5, 6 or 11”.
