I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Tradex Scheme Act 1999.

1Name of Regulations

 These Regulations are the Tradex Scheme Regulations 2000.

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on the commencement of the Tradex Scheme Act 1999.

3Definition

 In these Regulations:

Act means the Tradex Scheme Act 1999.

4Exempt classes of goods

 For the definition of exempt class of goods in section 4 of the Act, travellers’ cheques are goods in respect of which some or all of the requirements of the Drawback Regulations may not be able to be complied with.

5Goods consumed or used in compliance with the Drawback Regulations

 For the definition of consumed or used in subsection 21 (6) of the Act, nominated goods are consumed or used in a way permitted by this regulation if they are consumed or used in a way that complies with the requirements of the Drawback Regulations in respect of the goods.
