Tradespersons’ Rights Regulations

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Tradesmen’s Rights Regulation Act 1946.

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Tradespersons’ Rights Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s.48.]

Interpretation

 2.(1)   In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Tradesmen’s Rights Regulation Act 1946.

 (2) A reference in an item in a Part of Schedule 1 to a tradesperson of a particular classification is taken to be a reference to a tradesperson of that classification within the trade referred to in the heading of that Part.

Application of the Act to specified trades

 3.The Part of the Act that is referred to in the heading of a Part of Schedule 1 applies to the trade of each classification of tradesperson stated in an item in that Part of that Schedule.

Cessation of application of the Act to specified trades

 4.The Part of the Act that is referred to in the heading of a Part of Schedule 2 ceases to apply to the trade of each classification of tradesman stated in an item in that Part of that Schedule.

Repeal of Tradesmen’s Rights

Regulations, Tradesmen’s Rights (No. 2) Regulations and Tradesmen’s Rights (No. 3) Regulations

 5.Statutory Rules 1960 No. 59, 1973 No. 51 and 1974 No. 42 are repealed.
