[A ssented to 10 th D ecember , 1954.] E E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title and 1. This Act may be cited as “ The Trades and construction Labour Hall Management Act Amendment Act of 1954,” and shall be read as one with *“ The Trades and Labour Hall Management Act of 1934,” herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective title. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as “ The Trades and Labour Hall Management Acts, 1934 to 1954.” * 25 G. 5 No. 22.

BUILDINGS. 507 1954. Trades and Labour Hall, Etc., Act. 2. The following section is inserted after section New s. 4 a four of the Principal Act, namely :— inserted. “ [4 a .] ( 1.) The power to mortgage conferred upon Power of the trustees by the Schedules of Trusts set out in the mortgage0 Preamble to this Act is hereby varied as follows :— varied. (а) The amount which the sum or aggregated sums, exclusive of interest, due at any one time upon a mortgage or mortgages made or given in pursuance of the said power shall not exceed shall be and is hereby increased from a sum not larger than ten thousand pounds to a sum not larger than twenty-five thousand pounds ; and (б) Additionally to expending moneys to arise from any mortgage made or given in pursuance of the said power in making the payments specified in the said Schedules of Trusts, any such moneys may be expended in payment of the cost of adding to the building known as “The Trades and Labour Hall”. (2.) Section four of this Act and the said Schedules of Trusts shall apply subject to subsection one of this section and for the purpose of so applying those Schedules— (а) The relevant proviso in each of them whereby the amount specified in paragraph (a) of subsection one of this section is stipulated to be ten thousand pounds shall be read and applied by substituting for the words “ ten thousand pounds ” the words “ twenty-five thousand pounds ” ; and (б) In each of them the provisions with respect to the expenditure of moneys to arise from any mortgage made or given in pursuance of the power to mortgage conferred thereby shall be read and applied by adding to the paragraph lettered ( b) the words “ and of any addition to that building
