Trade Union Training Authority

Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, make the following Regulations under the Trade Union Training Authority Act 1975.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 September 1991.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Trade Union Training Authority Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Part II (Council for Union Training for the Australian Capital Territory)

3.1   Omit the Part.

4.   Regulation 14 (Interpretation)

4.1   Definition of “election”:

Omit “paragraph 14 (1) (j) or 20 (1) (e) of the Act or paragraph 5 (1) (e) of these Regulations”, substitute “subregulation 14A (1)”.

5.   New regulation 14A

5.1   After regulation 14, insert:

Part-time member to represent officers and employees of the Authority

 “14A. (1)   The method of selection of a person under paragraph 12 (1) (e) of the Act as a part-time member to represent the officers and employees of the Authority is by election in accordance with this Part.

“(2)

The persons who are eligible for nomination for election are the officers and employees of the Authority.”.

6.   Regulation 22 (Persons eligible to vote)

6.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

“22.

The persons who are eligible to vote at an election are the officers and employees of the Authority.”.

7.   Regulation 45 (Non-Regional offices)

7.1   Omit the regulation.

8.   Schedule 1 (Forms)

8.1   Form 1 (heading):

Omit “(a)”, substitute “EXECUTIVE COUNCIL”.

8.2   Form 1:

Omit “(a)Insert the name of the council in relation to which the election isheld”.

8.3   Form 1:

Omit “(b)” (wherever occurring), substitute “*”.

8.4   Form 2:

Omit “(a)” (first occurring), substitute “Executive Council”.

8.5   Form 2:

Omit “(a)Insert the name of the council in relation to which the election is held.”.

9.   Further amendments

9.1   The Trade Union Training Authority Regulations are further amended as set out in the following table:
