DIRECTION NO 31

I, Chris Bowen, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs, pursuant to section 95ZF of the Trade Practices Act 1974, hereby give the following direction:

1) The ACCC is to monitor prices, costs and profits relating to the supply of car parking services by the following persons:

(a)  Sydney Airport Corporation Limited and any other person from time to time operating a car parking facility at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport;

(b)  Australia Pacific Airports Corporation Limited and any other person from time to time operating a car parking facility at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport;

(c)  Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited and any other person from time to time operating a car parking facility at Brisbane Airport;

(d)  Adelaide Airport Limited and any other person from time to time operating a car parking facility at Adelaide Airport;

(e)  Westralia Airports Corporation Pty Limited and any other person from time to time operating a car parking facility at Perth Airport;

2) The ACCC is to report to me on its monitoring activities in paragraph (1) following the end of each financial year.

This Direction takes effect from 7 April 2008.
