s1 2 s4 Trade Measurement Amendment (No. 1) No. 144, 1999 PART 1—PRELIMINARY ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Trade Measurement Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1999 . PART 2—AMENDMENT OF TRADE MEASUREMENT (MEASURING INSTRUMENTS) REGULATION 1991 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 2 2. This part amends the TradeMeasurement(MeasuringInstruments)Regulation 1991 . ˙ Amendment of s 12 (Owner to provide and pay for labour etc.) 3. Section 12(1)(a), ‘materials or equipment’— omit, insert— ‘materials, electricity, equipment, liquid or gas’. ˙ Amendment of s 13 (Interpretation) 4.(1) Section 13, heading— omit, insert— ‘ Definitions ’. (2) Section 13, definition “glass measure” , paragraph (b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) a measure made of glass or another rigid or semi-rigid substance intended for use for the sale of beer, ale, stout or spirits by quantity other than as a prepacked article.’.

PART 3—AMENDMENT OF TRADE MEASUREMENT (PRE–PACKED ARTICLES) REGULATION 1991 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 3 6. This part amends the Trade Measurement (Pre-packed Articles) Regulation 1991 . ˙ Amendment of s 5 (Exemptions from marking requirements (name, address, measurement)) 7. Section 5— insert— ‘ (2A) However, if an exempt package has a name and address or measurement marked on it, the way the name and address or measurement is marked on the package must comply with this regulation.’. ˙ Amendment of s 15 (Unit etc. of measurement to be used) 8. Section 15— insert— ‘ (4) In this section— “ordinarily sold” , of an article sold by number or linear or superficial measurement, means the majority of the merchants selling the article in Australia ordinarily sell it by number or linear or superficial measurement.’.
