His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Trade Measurement Administration
Act 1989.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Trade Measurement
Administration Regulation 1997 so as:
to increase the charges payable to the Superintendent of Trade Measurement by the owners of measuring instruments for verification or re-verification of the instruments by an inspector (Schedule 1 [l]), to increase the charges payable to the Superintendent of Trade Measurement by the holders of servicing licences of charges in respect of the certification of measuring instruments by the licensees (Schedule 1 [2]).
to add spirit measures to the verification and certification charges for
batches of liquor beverage measures (Schedule 1 [3] and [4]),
to remove a separate charge for liquefied gas flowmeters from the
verification and certification charges for flowmeters (Schedule 1 [5]and [ 6 ] ) .
to insert a charge for verification or certification of dimensional
measuring instruments (Schedule 1 [ 7 ] ) . Published in Gazette No 38 of 27 February 1998. page 1010 Page 1

The fees and charges are being increased having regard to increases in the
Consumer Price Index since they were last fixed in 1992.
The Regulation is made under the Trade Measurement Administration Act
1989, including Part 3 (Fees and charges) and section 28 (the general
regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Trade Measurement Administration Amendment Regulation 1998.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 3 April 1998.
3 Amendment of Trade Measurement Administration Regulation 1997
The Trade Measurement Administration Regulation 1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
