Trade Marks Amendment Regulations 1998 (No. 1)2

I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Trade Marks Act 1995.

1.   Name of regulations

1.1   These regulations are the Trade Marks Amendment Regulations 1998 (No. 1).

2.   Commencement

2.1   These regulations commence on gazettal.

3.   Amendment

3.1   The Trade Marks Regulations are amended as set out in these regulations.

4.   Regulation 1.1 (Citation)

4.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

Name of regulations

 “1.1 These regulations are the Trade Marks Regulations 1995.”.

5.   Regulation 19.2 (Delegates of the Registrar)

5.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

Persons to whom Registrar may delegate (Act, s 206 (1))

 “19.2For subsection 206 (1) of the Act, a person holding, or performing the duties of, an office in the Trade Marks Office stated in Schedule 6 is a person to whom the Registrar may delegate all or any of the Registrar’s powers or functions under the Act.”.

6. Schedule

6 (Prescribed offices)

6.1   Omit the Schedule, substitute:
