AN ACT to amend the Trade Descriptions and False

Advertisements Act, 1936-1956.

[Assented to 7th May, 1969.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title

and citation.	1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Trade Descriptions and False Advertisements Act Amend- ment Act, 1969.

Advertisements.

2. Section two of the principal Act is amended 8.2am.

(a) by adding after the definition, "Retailer" the following definition

"Specialty animal fibre" means any of the following natural fibres, namely, cashmere, mohair, or the hair of the alpaca, camel, llama or vicuna. ; and

(b) by adding after subparagraph (iii) of paragraph (a) of the definition of "Textile products", the following subparagraphs

"(iv) carpets; and

(v) any goods declared by the regulations

to be textile products for the

purposes of this Act, " .

3. Section four A of the principal Act is 6.4A am.

amended

(a)	by adding after the passage, "Wool" ", where it occurs in line four of subsection (2) and again in line four of subsection (2a), the passage, "or the words, "All Wool" ", in both cases; and
(b)	by adding after subsection (2d) the following subsection

(2e) Notwithstanding any other pro- vision of this section, the trade description for textile products which contain not less than ninety-five per centum by weight of wool and specialty animal fibres may, where the weight of wool is not less than eighty per centum of the weight of all fibres contained in the products, include the words, "Pure Wool" or the words, "All Wool", and if the words, "Pure Wool" or the words "All Wool" are so included, then the provisions of subsection (2b) of this section do not apply. .
