Tow Truck Industry Amendment

(Maximum Fees) Regulation 2010

Tow Truck Industry Act 1998

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Tow Truck Industry Regulation 2008:

(a)	to increase certain maximum fees that can be charged by the holder of a tow truck operators licence or a tow truck drivers certificate for the towing, salvage or storage of a motor vehicle that has been involved in an accident or that has been stolen, or for any service that is related to the towing, salvage or storage of such a motor vehicle, and
(b)	to effect minor statute law revision by updating the name of a local government area.

The fee increases are generally in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index.
This Regulation is made under the Tow Truck Industry Act 1998, including sections 54
(Charges and fees for towing, salvage, storage and related services) and 105 (the general

regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Tow Truck Industry Amendment (Maximum
Fees) Regulation 2010.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2010 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.
