TOTALIZATOR (OFF-COURSE BETTING) ACT 1964—

REGULATION

(Amendments consequent on the commencement of the Totalizator Rule 1993)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Totalizator (Off-course Betting) Act 1964, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 September 1993.

Amendments

2. The Totalizator (Off-course Betting) Regulation 1983 is amended:

(a)	by omitting clause 7 (2) and by inserting instead the following subclause:

(2) An acknowledgment of a cash bet must show complete details of the bet in such form as the Minister may from time to time determine and notify to the Board.

(b) by inserting after clause 9 (1) the following subclause:

(1A) A ticket issued in acknowledgment of a bet must not be cancelled unless the cancellation is in accordance with subclause (1) or is done in circumstances approved by the Minister.

(c)	by inserting in clause 9 (2) after the matter “subclause (1)” the matter “or (1A)”;

(d)

by omitting from the definition of “win or place totalizator” in clause 24A the words “Win and Place Totalizator Rules 1964” and by inserting instead the words “Totalizator Rule 1993”;

(e)

by omitting from clause 24E (4) (b) the matter “section 9C (7)” and by inserting instead the matter “section 10H (7)”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Totalizator (Off-course Betting) Regulation 1983 with respect to the issuing of betting tickets as a consequence of the commencement of the Totalizator Rule 1993.

This Regulation is made under the Totalizator (Off-course Betting) Act 1964,

including section 21 (the general regulation making power).
