TOTALIZATOR ACT 1997 No 45—PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Totalizator Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 6 March 1998 as the day on which that Act (except section 72) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the above Act except for section 72 which deals with the payment of interest on overdue payments of betting tax. Until the commencement of that section, clause 13 of Schedule 2 to that Act makes transitional arrangements for the payment of interest.
