AN ACT to amend the Totalisator Duty Act, 1905.

[Assented to 17th, December, 1946.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Totalisator Duty Act

Amendment Act, 1946, and shall be read as one with the

Totalisator Duty Act, 1905 (Act No. 19 of 1905 as amended by Acts No. 8 of 1918 and No. 24 of 1930), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Amendment 2. Section three of the principal Act is amended as

follows:—

By deleting from subsection (1) the words "the Commissioner of Taxation appointed under the Land and Income Tax Assessment Act, 1907," in the second and third lines, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "the Commissioner of Stamps appointed under the Stamp Act, 1921-1944," and

(a)

(b) by deleting from subsection (2) the words "a

shilling" in the first line, and inserting in lieu

thereof the word "sixpence."

Amendment

of s, 4. 3. Section four of the principal Act is amended as

follows

(a) By deleting from subsection (1) the words

"Commissioner of Taxation" substituted for the

words "Colonial Treasurer" in the third line, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "Commissioner of Stamps";

(b) by deleting from paragraph (b) of subsec- tion (1) the words "a shilling" in the fourth line, and inserting in lieu thereof the word "sixpence."

4. Section five of the principal Act is amended by	Amendment

deleting the words "Commissioner of Taxation" substi- tuted for the words "Colonial Treasurer" in the first line, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "Commis- sioner of Stamps."

5.    Section six of the principal Act is amended by Amendment

deleting the words "Commissioner of Taxation" sub- of".

sioner of Stamps."

6.    Section seven of the principal Act is amended by Amendment

deleting from paragraph (c) of subsection (1) the words '1'7.

thereof the word "sixpence."

7.    Section eight of the principal Act is amended by .StfmmAtment

deleting the words "Commissioner of Taxation" sub- stituted for the words "Colonial Treasurer" where they occur in the third and fourth, and the fourth and fifth lines, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "Commis- sioner of Stamps."

8.	This Act shall come into force on a date to be	Commence-
