AN ACT to amend section twenty and section twenty-two of the Totalisator Agency Board Betting Act, 1960-1962.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation	1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Totalisator Agency Board Betting Act Amendment Act, 1963.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Totalisator Agency Board Betting Act, 1960-1963.

2. Section twenty of the principal Act is amended.

amended

(a) by adding after paragraph (b) of sub- section (1) a paragraph as follows:-

(ba) for double event bets and quinella bets by way of wagering or gaming in respect of such horse races conducted on race courses in the State as are selected by the Board, to be lodged with and received by or on behalf of the Board and placed by the Board in a totalisator pool conducted by it on those horse races in accordance with this Act ;

(b) by adding after subsection (4) a subsection as follows:—

(5) In this section, "double event bet" means a bet in which the backer nomin- ates a combination of two horses or nominates the same horse on the chance that those horses or that horse will fill first places in two horse races selected by the Board in accordance with para- graph (ba) of subsection (1) of this section; and "quinella bet" means a bet in which the backer nominates a combination of two horses on the chance that those horses will fill the first and second places, irrespective of the order in which they finish, in a horse race selected by the Board in accordance with para- graph (ba) of subsection (1) of this section.

amended. 3. Section twenty-two of the principal Act is amended by adding after subsection (2) a subsection as follows:—

(3) All moneys payable by way of dividend in respect of any bet referred to in paragraph (ba) of subsection (1) of section twenty of this Act that is placed by the Board in a totalisator pool which the Board is hereby authorised to conduct and operate, shall be paid by the Board in accordance with the regulations.
