1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Tobacco short title

(2.) The Tobacco Ordinance 1927-1936 is in this Ordinance
referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance,
may be cited as the Tobacco Ordinance 1927-1937.
2. Section three of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Definitions.
inserting after the definition of " Shop " the following definition:—
" ' Shopkeeper' means a person or partnership occupying
a shop, directly or indirectly, as principal;".
3. Section four of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Deputy

" (3.) Tlie Minister may appoint an officer to be Deputy Llc<!I,rasJ-
Registrar of Tobacco Licences, and the person so appointed shall have and may exercise all the powers and functions of flic Registrar, except the powers and functions conferred by section eighteen of this Ordinance.".
4. After section twelve of tlie Principal Ordinance the

following section is inserted:—
" 1 2 A . Any shopkeeper who causes, suffers or permits to be sale, of tobac.
sold in his shop any tobacco, cigars or cigarettes shall, unless he shopkeeper,
is llie holder of a licence in respect of the shop, be guilty of an
ffence.
Penalty: Twenty pounds.".
