THE Works at Thursday Island by applying to THURSDAY ISJ.AND that purpose Moneys of "The Port Xennedy WATER WORKS ACT OF 1911. Harbour Dues Trust Account." [ASSENTED TO 30TH NOVEMBER, 1911.] Preamble. WHEREAS pursuant to "The Harbour Dues Act of 1892 ,,* all moneys received under the authority of the said Act in respect of the Harbour of Port Kennedy ~ at Thursday Island, have from time to time been placed to the credit of a Trust Account, called" The Port Kennedy Harbour Dues Trust Account," and after payment of all sums incurred for the management and improvement of the said Harbour there is now standing to the credit of the said Account the sum of nine thousand five hundred pounds or thereabouts, and no part of the same is immediately required for constructional improvements in the said Harbour: And wbereas the construction of water works at Thursday Island, and the storage by means thereof of an adequate supply of water for the use not only of the inhabitants of the said Island but also of shipping, is urgently needed and would be of great advantage to the said Harbour; and whereas. the estimated cost of the said water works is sixteen thousand pounds or thereabouts: And whereas doubts have arisen whether any part of the moneys of the said Account can lawfully be applied to the construction of the said water works, and it is expedient that such moneys should be so applied: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Mo~t Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :- Short title. 1.
