Notice of Final Determination and Amendment of Schedule 2 to Act

The Scientific Committee established under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 has, in pursuance of Division 3 of Part 2 of that Act, made a final determination to omit reference to the following species of marine mammal from Schedule 2 to that Act (Vulnerable species) and, accordingly, that Schedule is amended as set out in Annexure “A” to this Notice:

Animals

Vertebrates

Marine mammals

Delphinidae

Stenella longirostris (Gray, 1828) Long-snouted Spinner Dolphin

The final determination to omit this species from Schedule 2 has been made because the Scientific Committee is of the opinion that the species is no longer eligible to be listed as a vulnerable species in that Schedule.

Schedule 2 to the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 is amended by omitting the following matter under the heading “Animals” and the sub-headings “Vertebrates”, “Marine mammals” and “Delphinidae”:
