Notice of Final Determination and Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2 to Act

The Scientific Committee established under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 has, in pursuance of Division 3 of Part 2 of that Act, made a final determination:

(a)	to insert the following species of bird in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to that Act (Endangered Species), and
(b)	as a consequence, to omit reference to that species of bird from Schedule 2 to that Act (Vulnerable species),

and, accordingly, those Schedules are amended as set out in Annexure “A” to this

Notice:

Birds

Psittacidae

*Lathamus discolor (Shaw, 1790) Swift Parrot

The final determination to insert this species in Part 1 of Schedule 1 has been made because the Scientific Committee is of the opinion that the numbers of the species have been reduced to such a critical level, and its habitats have been so drastically reduced, that it is in immediate danger of extinction.

Annexure “A”

Schedule 1 to the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 is amended by inserting in Part 1 in alphabetical order under the heading “Birds” and the sub- heading “Psittacidae” the matter:

Schedule 2 to the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 is amended by omitting the following matter under the heading “Birds” and the sub-heading “Psittacidae”:

BY AUTHORITY
