Notice of Final Determination and Amendment of Schedule 1 to Act
The Scientific Committee established under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 has, in pursuance of Division 3 of Part 2 of that Act, made a final determination to insert the following population of mammals in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to that Act (Endangered populations) and, accordingly, that Schedule is amended as set out in Annexure “A” to this Notice:
Mammals
Phascolarctidae
| Phascolarctos cinereus (Goldfuss, 1817) | Koala, Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens population |
The final determination to insert this population in Part 2 of Schedule 1 has been made because the Scientific Committee is of the opinion that the population has been reduced to such a critical level and its habitat has been so drastically reduced that it is in immediate danger of extinction, and that it is of significant conservation value.

Schedule 1 to the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 is amended by inserting in Part 2 in alphabetical order under the heading “Animals” and the sub- headings “Vertebrates”, “Mammals” and “Phascolarctidae” the matter.
