Act No 15, 1999

An Act to amend the Thoroughbred Racing Board Act 1996 in relation to the term of office of certain members of the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Board, and for other purposes. [Assented to 9 June 1999]

Section 1 Thoroughbred Racing Board Amendment Act 1999 No 15

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Thoroughbred Racing Board Amendment Act 1999.

2 Commencement

This Act commences, or is taken to have commenced, on 30 June
1999.

3 Amendment of Thoroughbred Racing Board Act 1996 No 37

The Thoroughbred Racing Board Act 1996 is amended as set out in
Schedule 1.

(Section 3)

[1]         Section 9 Term of office of members

Omit the note at the end of the section.

[2]         Schedule 1 Savings and transitional provisions

Omit clause 5. Insert instead:

5 Shortened term of office for half of first members of Board

The term of office of the first members of the Board who, under this clause as in force before its repeal by the Thoroughbred Racing Board Amendment Act 1999, were nominated to hold office for 2 years is extended so as to expire instead at midnight on a date to be determined by order of the Minister, being no later than 30 June 2001, and notified in the Gazette.
