Therapeutic Goods Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under
the
Dated 16 July 1984.

(a) by omitting from paragraph (2) (g) “three” and substituting “2”;
(b) by omitting from paragraph (2) (h) “and”;
(c) by adding at the end of sub-regulation (2) the following paragraphs:
“(j) a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Association of Australia;
(k) a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of The Australian Medical Devices and Diagnostics Association;
(l) a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the Australian Physiotherapy Association;
(m) a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the Australian Resuscitation Council; and
(n) a person appointed by the Minister on the nomination of The Institution of Biomedical Engineering (Australia) Incorporated.”; and
(d) by omitting from sub-regulation (5) “paragraph (2) (d), (e), (f), (g), (h) or (i)” and substituting “any of paragraphs (2) (d) to (n) (inclusive)”.
“(2) At a meeting of a Committee—
(a) in the case of the Therapeutic Goods Advisory Committee—7 members constitute a quorum;
(b) in the case of the Therapeutic Goods Standards Committee—5 members constitute a quorum; and
(c) in the case of the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee—
(i) if less than 7 members of the committee are in Australia when a meeting is held—3 members constitute a quorum; or
(ii) in any other case—4 members constitute a quorum.”.
