THERAPEUTIC GOODS AND OTHER DRUGS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1991

LANGE Director-General of Health and Medical Services THERAPEUTIC GOODS AND OTHER DRUGS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1991 Short title 1. These regulations may be cited as the Therapeutic Goods and Other Drugs (Amendment) Regulations 1991.
2 Therapeutic Goods and Other Drugs (Amendment) Regulations 1991 Amended regulations 2. The Therapeutic Goods and Other Drugs Regulations 1982, as subsequently amended, are amended as set out in these regulations. Insertion of new reg. 25A 3. After regulation 25— insert ‘Sale, supply and use of certain therapeutic goods restricted. ‘25A.(1) A person must not sell, supply or use a reagent for the testing for antibodies to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, except that such a reagent may be— (a) sold or supplied to a person who has the management or control of an approved laboratory; and (b) used by a person in the course of his or her professional duties at an approved laboratory. ‘(2) The Director-General is to approve a pathology or microbiology laboratory for the purposes of this regulation only if satisfied that the reagent referred to in subregulation (1) will be used in the laboratory in a safe and correct manner. ‘(3) In this regulation “approved laboratory” means a pathology or microbiology laboratory approved in writing by the Director-General under this regulation. Amendment of reg. 27 4. The Principal Regulations are amended in regulation 27(3) by omitting the expression “$500” and substituting the words “20 penalty units ”. ENDNOTES 1.
