AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Theatres and Public Halls

Ordinance 1928-1937.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Com-Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the monwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Seat of Government Acceptance Act, 1909-1938 and the Seat of
Government (Administration) Act 1910-1940, as follows:—
1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Theatres and short title and
Public Halls Ordinance 1946.* cltation-

(2.) The Theatres and Public Hails Ordinance 1928-1937, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited a.s the Theatres and Public Halls Ordinance 1928-1946.

2 . Section twenty -seven of the Theatres and Public Halls penalty for
Ordinance 1928-1937 is 'amended by omitt ing sub-section (2.) and entertainment
inserting in its stead the following sub-section :— snndavUnfc°n

" (2.) This section shall not apply to the holding, with the previous approval of the Minister or a person duly authorized in that behalf by the Minister, of a public entertainment or a public meeting of a religious, educational or cultural character on any such day by a genuinely charitable club or association.".
