THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN

TURF CLUB AMENDMENT ACT

No. 77 of 1990

AN ACT to amend The Western Australian Turf Club

Act 1892.

[Assented to 20 December 1990.]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as The Western Australian Turf Club

Amendment Act 1990.

Commencement

2. This Act shall come into operation on such day as is fixed by

proclamation.

Principal Act

3.    In this Act The Western Australian Turf Club Act 1892* is

referred to as the principal Act.

Section 40 amended

4.    Section 40 of the principal Act is amended by deleting

"30 April" in both places where it occurs and substituting in each

place the following-

" 31 July ".

Section 41 repealed and sections 41 and 41A substituted

5.    Section 41 of the principal Act is repealed and the following

sections are substituted

Copy of annual account to be submitted to chief executive officer

41. A copy of the annual account referred to in section 40

shall be submitted to the chief executive officer of the department principally assisting the Minister with the administration of the Act on or before 31 October in each year.

Inspection of annual account

41A. A person may, during normal business hours, inspect

a copy of the annual account at the office of the department

referred to in section 41. ".

Transitional

(1) Notwithstanding the operation of section 40 of the principal Act as amended by this Act, after the commencement of this Act the first period for which the books of the club shall be balanced and an account made up shall be the period 1 May 1990 to 31 July 1991.

(2) A copy of the account referred to in subsection (1) shall be submitted to the chief executive officer in accordance with section 41 of the principal Act as amended by this Act.
