HEREAS it is expedient to further provide for the redemption Preamble.

set apart on the thirtieth day of June in each year, and shall

form and constitute a Sinking Fund, to be applied in or towards the

payment of maturing Government Securities, or in the purchase, in

the open market or otherwisr, of such Bonds, 1nscriGed or Con-

solidated Stock, or Treasury Bills heretofore issued as the Treasurer

may direct.
