T IT H E R E A S it is expedient to establish a standard of time in New Preamble.
South Wales, and to declare the mean time of the one hundred and fiftieth meridian of lon^dtude east of Greenwich in England to he such standard time tliroughout New South Wales : Be it therefore enacted hy the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, hy and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South M'ales in Parliament assembled, and hy the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may he cited as “ The Standard Time Act of 1894.”
2. This Act shall commence and take cfi'ect on and from the Commc-nccmcnt of

declared to he standard time throughout New South Wales.
4. ’Whenever any cxitrcssion of time occurs in any Act, Order Tim-time mentioned

in Council, rule, regulaiion, or l)y-law, or (iced, or in any instrument standard time,
whatsoever, and Avlicnevcr the doing or not doing anything at a certain
time of day or night, or during a ctudain part of the day or tlic niglit,
has an cfi'ect in law, such tinu' shall, unless it is otherwise specifically
stated, he held to he standard time throughout New South lYales as
declared hy this Act.
