No. 884. An Act to provide for the establishment of Police
Prisons.
E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia,

appertaining, to be a Police Prison; and appoint such and so many superior officers thereof as he may deem necessary: and the Sheriff, with the approval of the Chief Secretary, may appoint or remove such and so many subordinate officers thereof as he may deem necessary. |

3, In all cases in which any properly constituted Court shall, by

not exceeding one month, it shall be lawful for such Court, if it | |
shall think fit, to direct that such imprisonment shall, in lieu of being carried out at the nearest gaol or prison, be carried out at the nearest Police Prison. |

crime who shall escape, or attempt to escape from such Prison or the premises thereunto appertaining, or from the custody of any officer or officers of such Prison, and being lawfully convicted thereof, shall be liable to imprisonment with hard labor |
