An Act to Legalise certain Payments made by various

Corporations and District Councils out of Muni-

cipal and District Moneys, and for other purposes.

HEREAS the Councils of various Municipalities and Ilistricts Preamble.

W have expended during the year certain of their moneys con- trary to the provisions of " The Municipal ~ b r ~ o r a t i o n s Act. 1890,"

and " The District Councils 1887 ": .4nd whereas it is desirable to legalise such expenditure, and to indemnify the members of sach Municipal and District Councils from all consequences in respect of such payments-

Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Parliament of South Australia, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as '' The Municipal Corporations and Short title.

the City of Adelaide out of its moneys, and all payments not ex-

ceeding in the aggregate the sum of Five Hundred Pounds made

or to be made by any other M~~nicipal Corporation out of its moneys,

in celebrating the visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and

Duchess of Cornwall and York to South Australia, are hereby

declared to be as valid as if express power to make such

had been given by section 286 of b('f'hr Mu~icipal Corporations

Act, 1890."
