No. 793. An Act to amend " The Legitimation Act, 1898."
E it Enacted by the Governor, with the advice and consent of
B | the Parliament of' South Australia, as follows: |
1, This Act may be cited as "The Legitimation Amendment Act,short title.
1902," and shall be incorporated with " The Legitimation Act, 1898,''
hereinafter referred to as " the principal Act."
2. The registration under the principal Act of children whoseRepbationafter
parents have intermarried either before or since the passing of the | |
principal Act, or shall hereafter intermarry, may be made or effected | |
in section 6 of the principal /4ct; and such registration shall there- upon be valid and effectual for all the purposes of the principal Act, notwithstanding any thing to the contrary contained in section |
thereof: | Provided that the parents of such children shall- |
(a ) Make application, in the form of the First Schedule hereto,to the Special Magistrate of any Local Court:
(6) Give proof, upon oath, to the satisfaction of such Special Magistrate, that they are the parents of the children named in such application:
(c) Obtain from such Special Magistrate, and produce to and file with a registrar for the registration of births at the time of
the registration of such children under the principal Act, a certificate of proof of such parentage in the form ortb the effect of the SecondSchedule hereto:(4

( d ) In all respects comply with the requirements of the principal,4ct other than those in section
6 thereof.
