Application for approval of the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement - Diocesan Schools of Queensland 2015-2019.

[1] An application has been made for approval of an enterprise agreement known as the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement - Diocesan Schools of Queensland 2015-2019 (the Agreement). The Application was made under s.185 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (the Act). It has been made by The Corporation of the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane; The Roman Catholic Trust Corporation for the Diocese of Cairns; The Roman Catholic Trust Corporation for the Diocese of Rockhampton; The Corporation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba; and The Roman Catholic Trust Corporation for the Diocese of Townsville. The agreement is a single enterprise agreement.

[2] I am satisfied that each of the requirements of ss186, 187 and 188 as are relevant to this application for approval have been met.

[3] The Independent Education Union of Australia, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, the Queensland Nurses’ Union of Employees and the United Voice being the bargaining representatives for the Agreement, have given notice under s.183 of the Act that it wants the Agreement to cover them. In accordance with s.201(2) of the Act, I note that the Agreement covers these organisations.

[4] The Agreement is approved and, in accordance with s.54 of the Act, will operate from 1 September 2016. The nominal expiry date of the Agreement is 30 June 2019.
