An Act to further amend " The Companies Act, 1864."
HERE A S it is desirable further to amend

W | Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the |
Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows: |

Any company registered under G The Companies |
with the sanction of a special resolution of the company passed in accordance with the provisions of thc said Act, and with the approval of the Registrar of Companies, testified by him in writing to be registered by him, may change its name, and, upon such change being made, the Registrar shall cnter the new name on the register in place of the former name, and shall issue a certificate of incorporation altercd to meet the circumstances of the casc; but no such alteration of name shall affect any rights or obligations of the company, or render defective any legal proceedings instituted or to
he instituted by or against the company, and any legal proceedings
may be continued or commenced against the company by its new name that might have been continued or commenced against the company by its former name: Provided that any alteration so made shall be advertised once in the Government Gazette, and in one newspaper published in the said province, nearest to the regis- tercd office of the company.
