1. (1) This Act may be cited alone as " The Closer SettlementShort title.
Act Amendment Act, 1911."
(2) "The Closer Settlement Act, 1910," and this Actmay be
cited together as | The Closer Settlement Acts, l910 and 1911." |

2, This Act is incorporated and shall be read with " The CloserIncorporation with

3, Section 6 of "The Closer Settlement Act, 1910," is |

I. By inserting after the word | and " in the second line of |
subsection
(2) thereof, the following words :-" a certificate signed by the Director of Irrigation and ReclamationWorks that any land therein specified ";
respectively " after the word " shall " |

Acquisition of lands
kind (save such as is excepted by subsection (1) of section 6 of | |
Closer Settlement Act, 1910 ") which adjoins land adjacent to the River Murray suitable for reclamation may be taken -and acquired by the Commissioner under The Closer Settlement Act, 1910," for the purposes for which lands may be taken and acquired under that Act. | |
(2) No land shall be so taken and acquired by virtue of the power conferred by this section unless- |
( a ) The land which i t adjoins as aforesaid is at the same time or has previously been so taken and acquired, or is other- wise vested in His Majesty the King or in some person on behalf of His Majesty, and
( b ) The Surveyor-General has signed a certificate stating thatthe land adjoins land adjacent to the River Murray
suitable for reclamation, and
(c) The Director of Irrigation and Reclamation Works has signed a certificate that the land is required for the con- venient or better working or use of the said land which
it adjoins, and
( d ) The said Director and the Surveyor-General have recom-mended in writing that the land be so taken and
acquired, and
( e ) The Commissioner has offered the occupier of such land theright to select a block of swamp or reclaimed land and
an area of other land in conjunction therewith.
(4) All the provisions of | The Closer Settlement Act, 1910," as |
to lands adjacent to the River Murray suitable for reclamation shall apply to land to be taken and acquired, or taken and acquired, by virtue of the power conferred by this section.
( 5 ) Notwithstanding any provision in the principal Act contained, no land shall, for the purposes of this section, be deemed to adjoin land from which it is separated by the main stream of the River Murray, and not merely by a creek, affluent, effluent, ana-branch, or extension of, or lagoon connected with, the said River.
