Pi-eambie. T yT IIE R E A S a Certain joint stock company called “ The City Rank”

has hcen established, and is carrying on the business ol' hanking subject to certain rides, regulations, and provisions contained in a certain indenture or deed of settlement hearing date the first day oP October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, being the deed of settlement of the said company : And whereas by an Act of the Governor and Legislative Council of New South Wales passed in the twenty-seventh year of Her jiresent Majesty’s reign, intituled “ An A ct to incorporate the Shareholders o f a certain Banking Company called ‘ The City Bank,’’ ” and for otlier purposes therein mentioned the said City Bank was incorj)orated for the purposes and with the powers therein contained : And Avhereas by the terms of the sev'entli section of the said recited Act the provisions therein contained for empowering “ The City Bank” to make, issue, circulate, and re-issue bank notes or bills in manner therein provided, were thereby limited to a term of twenty-one years to commence as therein mentioned : And whereas by the first section of “ The City Bank Extension Act of 1884” the said provisions were extended for a period of twenty-one years from the passing thereof; And whereas at a special general meeting oP the shareholders duly held on the nineteenth day of July last past, under the jirovisions contained in clauses three, four, and six of Part l y of the said deed of settlement, a resolution was duly passed to amend clause one of Part I of the said indenture or deed of settlement so as to alter the name of the said corporation by inserting therein the words “ The City Bank of Sydney” in lieu of the words “ The City Bank,” and authority Avas thereby also given to the directors of the said corporation to apjily to Parliament to alter the name of the said corporation accordingly: And Avhereas the said resolution aaus in accordance Avith the third ju’ovision of Part l y of the said indenture or deed of settlement duly confirmed at a general meeting
