An Act for the purpose of establishing a Holiday to

commemorate the Foundation of Australia.

[Assented to 26th November, 1888.

HEREAS it is desirable that every Anniversary of the Twenty-

sixth day of January be kept as a Public Holiday, in com-

memoration of the commencement of the settlement of Australia

under the Crown in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred

and eighty-eight :

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Couneil thereof, as follows :-

Application of

The Bank

1. That all the provisions of The Bank Holidays Act, 1884,'

Holidays Act to

be applicable to the twenty-sixth day of January in every year, as

the 26th day of fully as if the said day had been included in the schedule to the said

January

Act.

Short title

2. That this Act may be cited as ' The Bank Holidays Act, 1884,

Amendment Act, 1888.'
